Honda CBR1000, Harley Fatboy & Forty Eight Cruising in NYC, Bx48 Vlog Pt.2

Hi 48ers,

This is part 2 to the ride with the Sarg on the Honda CBR 1000 fireblade and Rog on the Harley Davidson Fatboy and myself on the HD 48. The video starts with us cruising on Pelham Parkway in the Bronx. Heading toward the 95 north that takes us to New Rochelle. I paused a minute while riding on Pelham in the video to let you listen to that Fatboys Vance and Hines exhaust. Which is wicked deep and sounds incredible. It will give you goose bumps and wake up the dead at the same time.

Once we are on the highway we cruise, i mean that is until the Sarg on the 1000 zooms by me at about 100mph+! Pay close attention to my speedo when he zooms by i am in the 70's and he literally fly's off the film in  4 sec flat lol. You can even hear me say Whooo once i see him fly by.

I have noticed that on all my videos i give shout outs. Which i like to do, maybe it's a Bronx thing. I appreciate all the great people that not only offer great motorcycle sites, vlogs, pic and great twitter pages. I also appreciate the riders that ride for a causes and show us the meaning of why we love to ride.

Hope everyone has been enjoying the videos. Stay tuned and subscribe to the page there is allot more in store for Bx48 this riding season.

Honda CBR1000, Harley Davidson Fatboy & Forty Eight Cruising in NYC, Bx...

Hi 48er's,

This was the first group ride of the season. In this film i introduce the guys i ride with the most over the summer. The Sarg on the Honda Cbr1000rr and Big Rog on the Harley Fatboy. I was due for an oil change and since Bx48 doesn't have his own garage or tools. So I asked the guys if they wanted to ride with me out to Harley Davidson where i get most of the work on my bike done. Of course, both of them agreed instantly so this video is born. Empire Harley is located in New Rochelle about 30 to 40 min away.

The Sarg and i rode allot my first summer riding chilling with me all over NYC. Rog gave me my first lessons on the Bike and we do allot of night rides in the summer cause he gets out of work late. So soon to come will be some BX48 night rides in the city. So we all know how each other ride and are use to our styles of riding, which most riders know it is always a pleasure to ride with guys that know how you ride and make the trip cool and worth it.

Our trip starts out in the Bronx through the back streets bypassing Fordham road because of all the construction heading into the Pelham parkway section of the Bronx where this ride ends and part two begins so stay tuned. It is a fun ride, Enjoy the ride

Harley Davidson Forty Eight cruising on Madison 80's to 135th NYC Bx48 V...

Hi 48er's!

Today i was picking up my lovely wife that asked me to pick her up for this ride. She hasn't been on the motorcycle since Oct so she had the fever for a ride. This is part 2 of cruising on Madison ave from 80th to about 130's.

Riding 2 up for the first time in a while always takes some adjusting. I am dealing with the extra weight and a more stiffer ride. The Harley 48 isn't really a comfy 2 up ride but the wife loves to tag along so what can i say but Let's ride. We are both pretty tall and close to the weight limit on the motorcycle so i try to simply cruiseBx48 is not fat just lean. lol. The ride on Madison is usually pretty smooth and it is a nice way to show the transition from Upper west side to the Harlem area. We go from these big structures to smaller residential buildings and some project buildings toward the 130's.

It was a beautiful day for a ride and i took off early to go pick her up. I have attached the video link below since this new Blog format doesn't allot the title to take you to the direct link. Enjoy the ride.

Harley Davidson Forty Eight Bx48 Vlog Midtown Traffic Jam 37th street Go...

Hi 48ers!

This video clip was probably the most draining of all sections of the ride for me. Not only was i getting that feeling you get right before you get sick but i was now stuck in the beginning of rush hour traffic. What could i do... Do what i do best Ride BABY! lol. There was a point in the film that needed to get ahead of the pack and i did a little lane split and of course it was right by a police van. Always a little nerve wrecking because the police are a little on edge with all the things going on so i don't want to get pulled over by one that is not having a good day and get ticketed out the ass.

Midtown is the only place that i try to be on my P's and Q's because of how tense i know police are. I don't blame them with all the crazy things going on in the world lately. I won't lie when i say Sport and super sport motorcycles get the short end of the stick in the city because they are labeled as the trouble makers. Cruisers are just cool riders to authority or maybe the fact that most in law enforcement have Harleys... I don't know just saying... I was getting confused to the point i even forgot where my wife worked 28th.. 38th... Who knows just get me the heck out of the traffic.

I want to send a prayer out there for the families that lost someone in Boston and for those hurt a speedy recovery. Even tho New York City and Boston have a rivalry we are all part of the United States and united we stand.

Harley Davidson Forty Eight cruising on Madison 37th to 80th NYC Bx48 Vl...

Hi 48er's!

This was the conclusion to the FDR traffic jam video. Only this was a pretty decent ride back home. I picked up the misses and she was riding in the back. It is the first ride of the season for me with a passenger so it was a little shaky. I always ride solo but on occasions i will pick her up. On a small bike like a sportster it is always an adventure with the added fact that we are also tall and well built people. lol I am not saying i am fat just well built.

The ride to the 80'a was decent  i was a little pissed off with the fact that there are two buss lanes and there were no buses on the bus lane. I wanted to zip past everyone but there is an integrated camera system now that will send a nice $65 dollar ticket to your house for riding on the bus lane. I did a little bit of singing in the video. One of my youtube subscribers (bvanyperen) warned me that i will not be making it to American Idol. All my hopes and dreams were shot down right there lol.

The video ended in the 80's because i dont like making super long vidoes. Let me know what you guys think Enjoy the ride.

Harley Davidson Sportster 48 Ride from 116th to 34th Along the East Rive...

This the direct link to the Youtube video for this Blog.

Hi 48ers,
Once traffic freed up on the FDR East River Drive it was a smooth ride from 116th to 37th street. I was able to go....., it makes me laugh to write it. At least 25 to 30mph which is quick on a week day to go into the city. I had just got away from the gridlock traffic of 138th street so 25mph was like was flying on the highway at 60mph at that point. The FDR does offer beautiful views of Manhattan and allot of the bridges only found on the east side of the city heading toward Queens and Brooklyn on route downtown.

I am going to pick a holiday to actually ride it all the way down to the Brooklyn bridge sooner or later, because that will be the only day that i would be able to catch it on a 15 to 20 min video. I am sorry to say that more motorcycle fatalities happen on the FDR than on any other drive in New York city. Maybe its because it is a tight and close drive or cages (When i say cages i mean cars) are being aggressive, new riders thinking it is simple road with no knowledge of the horrible road or some idiot that is doing something that he isn't supposed to at an increasingly fast speed.

The Fdr has it's faults too. Serious indentations, cracks, bumps and imperfections not to mention when it rain becomes possibly the most horrible ride in New York State. I won't just blame the drivers and riders. When faced with a wedge of road that makes you feel like you have no control of your bike and you are seems as tho you are heading for a divider and stomach starts turning nerves kick in ( something motorcycle riders know to well) The road is to take part blame.

Nerves, allot practice and quick thinking is what has me still standing today. The FDR has beat me up a little in my infancy of riding but today i respect it and i am very cautious whenever i am on it.

Akrapovic BMW S1000RR Full Exhaust System Amazing sound Bx48 Moto Vlog

Hi 48ers,

This video is a walk around of my cousin Andy R6's Bmw 1000rr it is named The Beast! I want to say it is beautiful. If i had to define it, i would call it sex on wheels. The curves, the way it looks, and that sound man.. it is allot. This was probably the most painful of videos that i have had to make. LOL

Why...? you ask, because i was standing right next to that exhaust and if you watch the video closely you will realize that the camera shakes.

What you don't know that it is the the camera that was shaking it was me. Notice how i am yelling at my cousin to stop. My ears were ringing. Who would have thought such a sweet sound would be so painful. I am waiting for the day i get to mount that beast and take it for a spin.

Harley Davidson 2012 Forty Eight Fighting through NYC Traffic on FDR NYC...

Hi 48er's,
It was a beautiful day to attempt another ride on the FDR east river drive. I also had a chance to sneak out of the office early to go pick up my wife downtown on 38th. It was also 80 degrees, who can say no to that? As predicted in the video i expected to get stuck in traffic in the 130's. and Bx48 had to do some weaving and bobbing and fighting to get past the gridlock of cars. I wasn't as aggressive as i usually am because i was feeling tired. This day was the 1st day of me getting a bad head cold. As a responsible rider you should always know your limitations when riding especially if you aren't feeling great.

Having a stock, plus low sounding exhaust while lane splitting i have to be extra careful because the Yellow assassins (NYC yellow cab) and the aggressive city drivers will take me down. My 2nd little bit of trouble on a motorcycle happened on the FDR. I will go into that story at a later time. Once i got home from this ride i got home showered and knocked out at 6:30pm till morning to wake up sick as a dog. Lucky for me that the next few days a cold came in from the north so it wouldn't have been good riding that week so you know i had to get my ride on. Enjoy the ride.

Harley Davidson Forty Eight Riding from Harlem 125th to The Bronx Go Pro...

This link is for the direct video for this blog.

Hi 48ers!
The was the final film of my 125th street ride. I was going to come back locally but then decided to come back on the west side highway to avoid traffic and show you guys the amazing view that comes from the north bound side which on your way uptown you can see the George Washington bridge. The West side highway for those of you not from NYC runs along the West side of the island of Manhattan. This highway was where i had my very first accident. I didn't get hurt but my Honda CBR600rr did get a little scratched up.

This part of the West side is in my opinion one of the best roads for curves uptown. There are some nice leans and areas to just have some fun that only stretch about 1 mile on this road. I have yet to get on my favorite road that is in Long Island called the southern state parkway but i will make my way up there sooner or later.

Once i got off the highway i am in Inwood (upper Manhattan 207th street) heading back to the Bronx and you can see how tight traffic gets once i am heading back over the bridge and also how having a motorcycle is amazing to just skip by everyone. This kind of traffic a common thing during the school year. Well guys Enjoy the ride

Harley Davidson Forty Eight Cruising up 125th street Harlem Bx48 using G...

Hi 48er's,

I am glad to announce that this is the best video quality of any of my films to date. Thanks to Roger (My little bro) he pushed me to make my video quality better. I got use to doing it a specific way that didn't really showcase the true potential of the camera's video quality and thanks to him and youtube i achieved a better quality.  I am also happy that this was an iconic ride for those that love New York City.  To see how 125th street has changed over the years and for me to bring that to you was awesome. I did miss a few of the blocks east of park ave but got some great footage of the rest heading westward.

It was a pleasant 70 degree day and the traffic wasn't horrible on two fifth. I took it a little easy because the police officers don't play around on Two Fifth ( 125th shortened by New Yorkers..) They will pull me over and give me a ticket in the area for lane splitting real quick. I got stopped by a ninja assassin (yellow taxi) to ask me about the camera on my head, which i found funny because i was just talking shit about his car and how i hated all yellow cabs.

There was also a funny part where i stalled, caught me off guard because it has been a long time since i have stalled lol. I ran into a fellow biker on a Honda Shadow had a quick conversation on video and his pipes sounded amazing.  (Man i need some pipes ASAP! lol) Enjoy the ride

Harley Davidson Sportster Forty Eight Lane Splitting & Cruising on The F...

Hi 48ers,
I got out for a ride on the FDR (Franklin D. Roosevelt) East river drive. I was a little upset because if the traffic would have been good i would have been able to get further downtown and make it to the Brooklyn Bridge which i wanted to do a video of. Since the traffic Gods didn't allow it i decided to go down the historic 125th street. Which was on my target places to go and film for you guys.

One route to 125th i encountered traffic and a little lane splinting was in order even tho it was a little on the tight side on the FDR it was still manageable. I had a fun and enjoyable ride down to 125th even tho everywhere i went there was traffic. I hope you enjoy the ride.

GoPro Hero 3 Harley Davidson Sportster Forty Eight Cruising back to Manh...

Hi Bx48er!

This is my final video for the week. This is the last bit of film from the Top speed video. I took the ride back from my unsuccessful visit to home depot. I ran into a Home Depot employee that mistook me for someone and i told him he did look like Jaime Fox lol. For some strange reason that is pretty common for me. Someone is always telling me that i look like someone else maybe i have a common face but i will tell you one thing Bx48 is a handsome dude lol. On this video i did allot of voice dubbing over the highway parts since you are going to hear wind.

I was having some random conversation giving some shout outs to some of my new subscribers. Which are Sonny Six, Zag Nagi, Melfat and Bvanyperen from Netherlands. My bad Bvany in the video i said Sweden i will fix it with a caption. The ride was smooth quick and to the point off to the gas station. Hop you guys enjoyed it. Setting up for next weeks adventure it is looking like i am heading to the FDR and give you the east side of Manhattan.

I am having a great time making these videos and i am getting better feed back from youtubers and Tweeters. Thanks for the support everyone.

Harley Davidson Sportster Forty Eight - Top Speed NYC Go Pro Hero3

Hi 48ers!!

This is my latest video on my youtube channel. If you aren't a subscriber do so because i have a ton more riding to do this year and bring you guys some great shots of New York City. I did this video with the intention of making a Top Speed video of the Harley Davidson Sportster 48. I haven't seen one yet online, so i figured why not?

This day wasn't the best day to do this kind of video because the wind gust was pretty high and for those of you that ride know that riding fast in high winds sucks, especially if it is a cruiser and naked bike. There are no aerodynamics what so ever so you feel every wind blast. If you know Harley Speedometers you know how fast i was going. I had a little of a close call because traffic stopped suddenly due to a construction truck so in the beginning half of the video you will see the bike going from like 80 to 45 50mph in like 3 seconds which suck on a Harley because the breaking system for the sportster aren't the greatest and the last thing you want to do is lock up your wheels when you are going that fast.

To add insult to injury a dam Livery cab also tried to cut me off shortly after, so.. it was not meant to be the 100mph day. I give a big shout out to the Up and Out crew (Pita21, Andyr6 and Alex Malo) for letting me hang with them when i was learning to ride. Those rides thought me allot of riding in tight, close, fast and dangerous situations lol Big shout out to Roger for the lessons in CRUISING. I am not on a supersport anymore.

I want you to keep in mind that i do not advise anyone attempt or duplicate these actions please follow your local speed limits especially if you are learning or beginning to ride. Speed is loads of fun but it can take 1 mistake and a little fear to turn a fun ride to a really bad one.

Harley Davidson Forty Eight Stock exhaust, Sportster 48 with Vance Hines...

First ride of the week. I had the chance to bump into another Harley 48 Sportster. Something i never really expected to happen. I never run into other 48's. Last 2 seasons i have been the only 48 i seen on the road in NYC.

It was a pleasure to meet him we had a little chit chat and talk 48. I really enjoyed the sounds of his Vance and Hines exhaust which roared like an animal. Unlike my 48 that pur's because they are stock. Until i get a chance to buy one for my bike IT WILL DO. This was a trip to Riverdale i decided to just turn the camera on and film a little. Luck for me i did. Hope you guys enjoyed the ride.
